Dean’s List

If I had known this would happen seven years ago when Evan took a nap instead of completing the math placement test in seventh grade, I would have gotten more sleep.

I’m so proud of him. Next week he begins his three summer school classes and an internship in the PT clinic at the hospital.

Memorial Day

We might have started our day at the gym, but we spent most of it poolside, producing vitamin D, and relaxing. Some of us played bags.

Some of us watched from the pool. We tried to finish off the grazing table, but the grazing table won. Evan grilled brats. Some of us took naps. We watched some bad golf from the shade of the porch. We ate cake and tried to conquer the table again. We got some more sun enjoying the near perfect weather, and when we started to turn pink, we called it a day.

I get to do it again tomorrow! I’m adding a book to tomorrow’s plans.

Party Like It’s 2023

We celebrated Keagan’s graduation today with friends and family. Although very few people were invited, as per Keagan’s wish, we had food to feed an Army. We had a beautiful cake and decorated sugar cookies.

My mom and I put together a grazing table that was filled with great things! I had no idea what I was doing when I started planning this mid-afternoon snack bar, so Google was my friend.

For the record, blueberry cheese is a winner!

This project turned out better than expected! I was pretty damn proud of it!

This is the only picture I took during the entire party.

My friend Cindy made Keagan a money lei. He has all of his bedding, a dorm fridge, money for new cleats, gift cards for dorm supplies, and a little extra for gas money. He has been blown away by the generosity of our friends and family!

After three parties, I’m done. I wish I could sleep for a week. Oh, wait! I can! It’s summer time! Here’s to lazy pool days. After this school year, I deserve every last one!

Class of 2023

I blinked and he was grown.

But I was there for it all.

I soaked it all in.

And it was great!

Congratulations, Keagan! 🎓🎉 Trevecca is getting a good one. 💜🖤🤍

Soccer Banquet

We bid farewell to the soccer team tonight at the annual banquet. We had dinner, awards, pictures, and cake.

The seniors were recognized - many of them team members for all four years of high school.

Keagan was awarded his four year pin and the team’s MVP award.

I bid the booster club farewell! One more thing has been removed from my plate.

State Sectionals

We were one goal - one goal - from State. Our season ended tonight; Keagan played his last game wearing #14 for Rossview.

But what a game! He easily played his best game this season tonight.

The team came out motivated and playing with such intensity. In fact, we scored the first goal. At half, Keagan gave his motivational speech, and the boys came back out to tie it 2-2.

I’ve been so nervous with him winning the hall with his head, but he doesn’t seem impacted by it all.

For some boys, tonight’s game was their very last. I’m so happy we return to the field on June 1 with the travel team in preparation for Regionals.

Team Dinner

After practice tonight, we had the boys meet in the cafeteria for a team meal. It’s a tradition that we try to have a pasta meal before a big game. State Sectionals -it doesn’t get much bigger.

Let’s fly high tomorrow, Hawks!

Keagana Harris

Today marked the return of the annual academic awards ceremony at the high school. Keagan was recognized for superior academic achievement. I’m so proud of him!

I wish we could recognize the guidance department for superior achievement. He’s now Keagana Harris! I can’t even!

Region 7-AAA Champions

For a third time this season we played our rival CHS. Tonight’s game was for the coveted regional championship. The game started a little slow. We had many shots, but we weren’t moving the ball very well and we continually lost it in the midfield playing the 4-4-2.

Both team captains battled it out on the field just about the entire game. With about 25 minutes left to play, we scored off a header in a free kick. That’s when the pace really picked up and both teams played with a bit more intensity, but after 80 minutes, we were crowned the winners!

Look at that face!

Next stop is sectionals. We host the game on Saturday against the second place team in the Memphis region.

What a ride we have had! I don’t want to get off quite yet!

Hawk Walk

Today was Hawk Walk, where the seniors walk the halls of the elementary schools they once attended. They wear their graduation gowns and reconnect with former teachers.  Underneath the gown, they wear a shirt representing the college they plan to attend.

Keagan, Landon, Chance

Keagan texted today, “The hawk walk is easily the best thing Rossview does for seniors.”

Regional Semi-final

After winning the district title last week, we secured a first place seed in the regional tournament. We played the second seed in region 7 and came out victorious 7-1. Most of our starters didn’t play the second half; Keagan was put in the midfield when another player was carded.

We are now playing in the regional championship game on Wednesday! Go Hawks!

Mother’s Day

As I was loading six tvs, multiple Keurig machines, headphones, and 18 dozen doughnuts in my car last night, I hear a motor running. Convinced someone was trying to rob me of After Prom prizes, I snuck a peek out of the garage to see the Jeep. And then it was all kinds of cheering and hugs.

I’m on the couch all day today like it’s year 1350 and I have the Black Plague. He’s on his own for food!

After Prom

While Keagan and his friends were at prom, the parents set up After Prom.

For one full year we fundraised and planned and organized, and tonight we sigh with relief that it’s over! Please don’t ask me to ever sell anything ever again. I’m done with fundraising and 501-3c paperwork and trying to persuade others to help! But at the same time, it was lovely to see a community of parents, business owners, and store managers come together to make tonight such a success. I will be forever grateful to the people who supported us with drinks, pizza, doughnuts, candy, and prizes!

I’ve been awake for 24 hours, my feet hurt like you wouldn’t believe, and I’m so tired I can’t think straight. However, 245 seniors had a safe place to go after prom, and they were so grateful for the prizes, food, and games.

Keagan played a round of basketball (look at that smile on the guy guarding Keagan), and his friend Landon came to me afterwards and said, “Ms. Kacey, it was like the old days in Farmington, Keagan did the exact same moves and still shot right in front of my face.”

Madi won a tv, and Keagan went home with cash.  I’m going home with a full heart!

What a great team we made!

Senior Prom

Today it was confirmed why God saw fit that I have boys. Tears. Boob tape. Midol. High heels. Nail appointment. Hair crisis. Spray tans. More tears. I couldn’t take it. I don’t drink, but I’m considering opening that bottle of three year old whiskey to help me forget everything I just experienced with a dozen girls trying to take pics of their good sides.

My biggest problem with my boy was choosing a suit color: navy or charcoal? And let me tell you! Buying a custom suit was the very best decision! It fits him like a glove.

Take note of the brown shoes. They are two toned leather and beautiful. I probably find them more beautiful than most because I saw the price tag, but try to see the beauty if you can’t already.

My favorite pic because the smiles are so natural and they both look so happy.

A few of the boys are missing to play in the baseball regional tournament. The rain delay pushed their game time back four hours!

We were to take pics at a barn, but the rain put a squash on that real fast. The open farm land was nice, though.

The kids are headed to Nashville for dinner, and then the party bus will take them to Kentucky to the prom venue.

It took us five tries, but we got the $7.99 tie from Amazon tied!

I’m at home alone in my pjs welcoming the peace and quiet so I can nap before I head to the school at 9:00 for the biggest party of the year - After Prom.
