Champions

🎡🎢🎢 We are the champions, we are the champions! 🎢🎡🎢🎡🎢

The boys did it! Tonight they brought home the district championship going 13-0 for the season. This season they scored 86 goals and had only three goals scored on them. They are tremendously talented and look so good on the field together.

Congratulations also go out to the five Rossview players named as all-stars: Ben, Chance, Keagan, Tristan, and Brayden.

Many thanks to our coach, Jandro. For six years he has coached one of my boys in either travel or club ball. He’s like a big brother to both of them. I’m appreciative of his time and efforts, but I’m most thankful of his acceptance of multi-sport players. There are never any guilt trips placed on us when we have basketball and have to skip practice, and there is always a genuine good luck.

These two have been best friends for the past three years. Next fall Ty will be attending another school across town.

While the middle school played in the district championship, the high school team won the Regional championship with a score of 7-0.

This weekend they play in Sectionals. What a season for both of my boys!

This is Not How it Was Supposed to Play Out

Team Captains: Angel Navarro and Evan shake hands prior to game
This ref has had our game every week. The look on her face makes me believe that she might have planned it this way.

Keagan and Chance making small talk with the referees prior to kick off.

I am saddened to report we have lost yet another middle school game. Monday's night's score was 0-1. This was the game we had to win, but with Evan barely able to move with a bruised tailbone and two starters sick with the stomach virus we were not able to pull out the W. My #2 played his heart out! Next time...

Say It Ain't So

Say it ain't so! We had high hopes for an undefeated middle school season, and we lost the first game of the season 1-2. Evan is beside himself with angst and grief. However, on the upside, my two boys worked together to get our team's one goal. Keagan had the assist with a throw in, and Evan had the goal.

Team Effort

Keagan made us promise we would not move until he had a chance to play middle school soccer with his brother and for Coach Jandro. His wish was my demand. Luckily, the Army complied.

Evan was named co-captain of the team, but I've been told that Keagan is quick to tell the eighth graders what to do and is considered the psuedo-captain. Together my two led practice tonight. Keagan became upset and impatient when the older boys couldn't finish a drill, so Evan had to take the role of the calm, patient one. I heard it for myself tonight,  or I would have never believed it.

Game one is Monday which means it will certainly  storm and get rained out. Keagan will gnash his teeth and complain of having to wait to play his first full game. Evan will calmly explain he will get to still play,  and when Keagan leaves the room, he, too, will curse the rain. And so will I. I've waited three years for this!
