Back at It

Keagan’s cleared and back on the field. He’s wearing the captain armband and all is well with his concussion.

Unfortunately, we tied 1-1 tonight and finished as the second seed in the district. A little less than two weeks and we are playing in the district tournament. I hope we can find some offense between now and then!

Girls Soccer

Senior year means celebrations and many lasts. Thursday night Keagan celebrated the girls’ soccer team’s Regional win, the first in school history.

Tonight was substate, but the girls weren’t able to pull out a win. Madi took off those cleats for the last time.

They celebrated a memorable season at their favorite restaurant. (This restaurant owner will never recover from the girls’ graduation; he pays his bills with their biweekly visits.)

Sub-Regionals

Our district championship on Thursday earned us a spot in the next round of play, Regionals. Tonight we played the first round and hosted Dickson.

We came out on top with a 3-1 win. We had 32 shots! 32!! And scored 3. But a win is a win.

We had soccer friends in the stands supporting us. Here is Keagan’s “little brother” Konner.

Our next game is Thursday night where we will play in the Regional Championship.

It’s a knee miracle! Keagan felt his dislocated knee was healthy enough to return to play this weekend in the season opening jamboree. It was cold - so very cold - but our team looked good - so very good. There is so much talent - especially in the attacking third - when the starting eleven take the field. My guy is playing in the mid-field and got involved in the attack as well as the defense. He took this style of play right out of Evan’s playbook.

Keagan played a rather conservative game, and understandably so, but he was instrumental playing the anchor in the midfield. The team had a great performance (three wins and a tie)!
Antioch 2-0
Overton 1-0
Ravenwood 1-1
Cane Ridge 2-0

I told someone last week I was not looking forward to school ball, but let me amend my comment. This is going to be so much fun to watch! I cannot wait to see how these talented boys play this year.

Go Hawks!
