Rivalry

Wednesday night’s game was against our local rival. Typically this is a very competitive game and all of the community soccer fans come out to watch. Our stands were full of elementary aged soccer players as well as school mates.

Some of my favorite people came to watch the game.

We kicked off just as the sun was setting.

And 61 minutes later we came away with a 9-0 mercy rule win!

Pure joy! This win has us sliding into the first seed spot for the district tournament.

My #14 is giving it his all and playing with so much heart despite the knee pain and inflammation.

❤️ him!

Season Closer

The regular school soccer season closed with tonight’s game and our 2-1 win. After Tuesday night’s loss to the number six team in the state, the win was a great boost to our confidence and proved we can play offense and defense in the same game at the same time. 🤣 We played against some of our old TUSC friends tonight, and it was a pure joy to catch up with everyone again.

We also got to see friends that we currently play with for travel ball.

Next week we play in the district tournament. Because of our first place seed, we earned a bye for Monday’s quarter final games. We are looking to win the semi-final game on Tuesday night. Go Hawks!

School Soccer

Here we are back at it with high-school soccer - all 43 boys. (It’s just slightly obnoxious that nobody got cut.) The first preseason game was an easy one. We were playing a team that rostered eighth graders; Evan scored a goal in the JV game playing attacking mid. I missed it, though, because the mudslide still has the interstate closed and you can’t drive any where quickly any more. The second preseason game was also a win - against the defending state champions. If it ever stops raining, we might get to play again.
