Keagan is playing center back; he says it’s boring and wants to be in the midfield or playing as an outside back where there’s more action. But tonight’s pre-season score was 3-0; he’s on his way to a clean sheet. I hope I can persuade him to save his knees, play in the back, and work for a zero in the “goals scored against” column.
Five years later we have grown to love Tennessee as much as our home state of Texas. Our adventures as a military family continue in the land made famous for country music and hot chicken. As much as our lives have changed with our twenty plus years in the military, much remains the same. We spend our weekends playing soccer, our winters on the beach, and our holidays with family.

Last First High School Game
Tonight was the last first high school game. Every year I dread the high school season. The level of play is always an adjustment after travel ball. After the first game, you just agree to watch bad soccer and hope you aren’t as bad as the others.

School Soccer
Today the school soccer team’s roster was released. While it wasn’t a surprise to see his name, it was a surprise to see him so excited for the school season. Our first pre-season game is in one week!

High School Football Rivalry
While Wes and I were in Nashville for the NSC game, Keagan and Madi were at the biggest football game of the season.

The local newspaper had these photos on its site this morning.

We lost 9-10. Keagan woke up with no voice and super bummed we didn’t come home with the coveted shield. I’m so thankful the kids are experiencing the great high school moments that have been canceled in years past.

First Day of School
It’s the first day of Keagan’s junior year!

Don’t let the smile fool you; he’s not excited to be back at school. School interferes with soccer and gets in the way of what he really wants to do. This will be a hard year with AP classes and the required studying.

Scrubs Day
Keagan is in the health science program at the high school, and for extra credit, he can wear scrubs to school. Today was scrubs day.

He’s rockin’ the look, y’all! I can’t get over how cute he is with that smile!
