He was challenged to think critically; he was forced to evaluate his stance on pressing social and moral issues; he was exposed to lifestyles he could have never imagined; he was pushed outside of his comfort zone; he toured a city he had never seen before. This was a wonderful experience for him, and I’m so grateful he had this opportunity.
Five years later we have grown to love Tennessee as much as our home state of Texas. Our adventures as a military family continue in the land made famous for country music and hot chicken. As much as our lives have changed with our twenty plus years in the military, much remains the same. We spend our weekends playing soccer, our winters on the beach, and our holidays with family.

NSLC
After eight days, I finally have Evan back home. He loved his week at the National Student Leadership Conference. He met so many people who share a common interest in the love of sports but who also had very diverse backgrounds.
